About J Hill Interior Designs
The main goal for J Hill Interior Designs (JHID) is for the finished space to be aesthetically pleasing, while maintaining functionality for the client’s lifestyle/business. This is to not only improve someone’s home/business interiors, but to also improve the way they live, and to encourage their most ideal lifestyle possible.
JHID offers a wide spectrum of services that enable many different budgets and client types to hire a designer. JHID’s inside slogan is, “We are as involved or as hands-off as your preferences and/or budget permits.” JHID strives to work with what the space already offers before pursuing costly means or complex renovations. In the event of home renovations or remodels, Jessica applies the same timely and resourceful approach, and works with contractors and specialists that also offer quality work.
J Hill Interior Designs firmly believes in maintaining an open line of communication with the client, and keeping them as informed as possible throughout the whole process. The explanation of “pros and cons” of different selections and design options are discussed in detail. Furthermore, JHID fully explains the pricing strategy upfront, leaving no room for question in invoicing and charges, and strives to educate the client on how estimates, bids and other processes work with designers and contractors.
Simultaneously, J Hill Interior Designs strives to create a lasting relationship with their clients, and ensures that work is carried through is the highest ethical standard possible. JHID’s mission is strongly centered to never over-promise or under-deliver, but to always try to exceed expectations throughout the whole design and implementation process.
Lastly, the unconventional mix of marketing and design experience gives Jessica an advantage over most people in the commercial design industry: The intuitive understanding of how to create a distinctive space directly reflects the brand.
“The future belongs to those who understand that doing more with less is compassionate, prosperous, and enduring, and thus more intelligent, even competitive.” – Paul Hawken
About the Designer
Meet the designer, Jessica, founder and owner of J Hill Interior Designs (JHID).
Jessica started the firm after realizing a large gap existed in the design industry, as the market consisted primarily of only high-end, luxury designers.
She came to the conclusion that hiring a designer/decorator should be possible for everyone, with a goal to be more cost-effective and simple by being resourceful, creative and deliberate in how you design a space or a home.
Jessica received two degrees at the University of Colorado in Business Marketing and Spanish. After working in the advertising corporate world, Jessica realized following her life-long passion for design could be attainable through a leap of faith and hard work. She began pursuing the technical education and experience in design prior to eventually starting JHID.
Through her technical education in interior drafting, interior computer modeling, sustainable design, commercial and residential codes, materials and resources, and design theory, she adds know-how to an innate sense of design. Jessica also speaks Spanish and has a passion for Latin American culture and interiors.
Jessica and her husband currently reside in Point Loma, San Diego, CA. They are very active in their home church, and have a passion for God, life, family, friends and serving others.

Jody E: “Jessica was extremely helpful, professional, efficient and a joy to work with. Taking the circa 1929, 13 seat diner and transforming it into a colorful, classy Mexican/American style cafe was no easy feat. She has a great work ethic and is a natural project manager, along with quick wit, bubbly personality, that complimented my graphic design input. The job was done quickly, creatively, and within budget….The “before and after” photos are like “Night and Day”"
Shannon N: “Jessica helped me fix up my room while my husband was away with the Navy. I wanted to surprise my husband with an organized space that felt like a “mini-vacation” when he entered. Jessica helped me move the furniture around in a way that I could not have come up on my own. The new position of my bed shows off the unique angles of the roof and makes the room look more interesting. We went with a “posh-cabin feel”, which my husband loved! She also helped me set up pictures and a mirror on an overwhelming size of a wall. The pictures are clustered perfectly and the wall looks professionally done. Jessica is a very fun person to be around, but it also very diligent and hardworking. I highly recommend her for any design job and I believe she can make your home or workspace a better representation of who you are- or at least only your best attributes.”
Monica B: “Jessica helped do our baby’s nursery and son’s big boy room, they are amazing!! She is affordable, very creative, quick turnaround time, and has a wonderful personality!!”
Lindsy D: “Jessica did a great job re-vamping my room. I had pretty much no idea what I wanted. All I knew was that I needed a complete change from the way it was. She did so well at taking the little information I gave her and turning my room into what I never even knew I wanted, but what I absolutely love. Every time I walk into my room I’m happy! I’d recommend her work to anyone. Not only is she talented and creative, but also easy to work with.”
Dessie J: “I was referred by a friend of a friend & was thinking this girl was from Coronado & would probably charge me a fortune just for advise. I live on a budget & simply needed help in decorating with things I already owned so that my husband would be surprised coming home after a long deployment. At our first meeting, I was the one surprised at the efficiency & knowledge Jessica had when we talked about what I wanted to do. She suggested I opt for the Staging for Life service & that is what I did. In just a few short hours, she was able to use pictures, art, candles, family photo’s, & a shelf to completely transform my living/dining room into a comfortable & elegant space I barely recognized as my old living room. I am very pleased with the results & plan to hire her again to help decorate my kids rooms.”
